Updating an Outdated Graphics Driver

If your report flagged GPU driver age, your graphics driver hasn't been updated in over a year. Outdated GPU drivers are a common, easy-to-miss cause of stutter and inconsistent frame times that has nothing to do with your network — this often gets blamed on the connection when it's really a PC-side fix.

Find your GPU manufacturer

Check which one applies to you (your report shows the exact card name):

• NVIDIA — download the latest driver from nvidia.com/drivers, or use the NVIDIA App if you already have it installed.
• AMD — download from amd.com/support, or use AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition if already installed.
• Intel — download from intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center, or use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.

Installing it

1. Download the driver matching your exact GPU model (the manufacturer's site will detect this automatically, or you can select it from your report's finding).
2. Run the installer. A clean install option (offered by both NVIDIA and AMD's installers) is worth choosing if you haven't updated in a long time — it removes old driver remnants that can sometimes cause conflicts.
3. Restart your PC once the install finishes.

After updating

Re-run a LagInspector diagnostic to confirm the driver date is now current. If you were experiencing stutter, it's worth a full racing session to see if the update actually resolved the feel of it, not just the report's finding.
